Cars have specific maintenance needs… even yours!

Your car maintenance needs depends on your vehicle usage. Not all cars have the same maintenance needs.

Our auto experts at Michael and Company can help you identify which type of car maintenance schedule is best for your car.

Auto Maintenance Schedule: Normal VS Severe

All cars come with a normal and a severe maintenance schedule.

Our skilled mechanics can identify the maintenance schedule your car needs to successfully avoid wear and tear and extend the life of your car.

It’s highly likely that your car needs severe maintenance if:

  1. you live in a highly humid and dusty area and with extreme temperatures
  2. you drive a service vehicle that’s frequently in use such as a taxi
  3. you often drive in stop and go traffic every day.

If none of these ring true for you, then you will more likely just need a normal maintenance schedule.

30K, 60K, 90K Factory Maintenance Services

The 30K, 60K, and 90K mile maintenance services refer to the recommended vehicle maintenance schedule put out by your car’s manufacturer.

They also go by Level 1, Level 2 services or A and B services.

What this means is that you should take your car to the service center after driving 30,000 miles, 60,000 miles, 90,000 miles and so on.

By bringing your car to Michael and Company service center for your 30,000, 60,000, or 90,000-mile factory service, we can help increase your fuel mileage and avoid expensive repairs.

We follow all recommendations by your car’s manufacturer and utilize the latest in equipment, tools, and diagnostics when working on your vehicle.

You can trust us with your 30K, 60K, and 90K mile maintenance service. Contact us at (408) 286-2988.

High Mileage Maintenance

If you’ve driven 100,000 miles on your car, congratulations! You’re probably keeping up with your regular maintenance schedule.

However, the more miles your car clocks in, the more regular the maintenance required to keep it in optimum condition. Older cars require more frequent maintenance than new cars.

For example, if you’ve driven over 100,000 miles, your car will need more frequent oil changes. From the recommended 7,000-mile interval for oil changes, it’s shortened to 3,000 miles.

The timing belt also needs replacing at 100,000 miles. A timing belt can snap and damage your engine, requiring very extensive and expensive repair.

Manual Transmission Car Maintenance

Today, the maintenance requirements of manual transmission cars are almost the same as the automatic cars.

But generally, you should regularly check headlights, dashboard indicator lights, windshield wipers, washer fluid levels, engine oil levels, and tires.

These cars usually need at least one clutch replacement in its lifetime especially if the clutch becomes too hard or too soft to press, you hear noises, or if it gets harder to shift or stay in gear.

Here’s a video on how to find out if you need to replace your clutch:

Michael and Company’s transmission services include:

  1. installing of a new pan gasket
  2. replacing the transmission fluid
  3. replacing the transmission filter

Truck Maintenance

Trucks endure much harder use than the average automobile. For this reason, trucks require more frequent maintenance than a family car.

Generally, you should check your fluids and tire pressure every month, and rotate your tires along with replacing your oil every 3,000 miles at least.
